RE: Woman suffering miscarriage denied abortion and dies of blood poisoning in Ireland

Actually, since the bible writers believed that all genetic information came from a man and his "seed," they would have either seen it as the man's fault with an imperfect seed, or a fault of the women's "fertility." As you may notice, the use of the agrarian terms in the bible for the reproductive cycle is intentional. They believed that women were but a fertile soil that the man planted a seed into. This is why the genealogies were always based on the father's lineage. The woman had no part in creating the life inside her, she was simply the nurturer.
How dare the woman disrupt a man's bumper crop!

It makes me sick really, especially as a woman. When you go to a hospital you expect them to help you. The baby was lost unfortunately and yet they forced her to suffer in agony like that for three days, despite her pleas for help. Catholics say they're tolerant of all religions but are so eager to shove theirs down everyone's throat through the law of the land and in this case murdered someone in the process. Of course, murder is something the Catholic church has always done very well.

Hey perk up everyone! She's in a "better place" right? She should be thanking the Catholics!

The good news is that the public outrage about this case is demanding for a legislation change. The sad part is that someone had to die horribly to open people's eyes.

The intanglement of church and state is soooo massive in Spain that it made scandels possible such as the recent "babytheft" scandel in Spain.
It is a major problem in a lot of catholic european nations that because of monarchist and other traditions church and state are sometimes not completly seperated.
I actualy hoped that the childabuse scandel will lead to rethinking in Ireland.
But in Spain (as far as I know from Spanish friend) critizising the catholic church - can mean social suizide outside of major liberal cities.
