Questions For You Non Believers
RE: Questions For You Non Believers

Just because the Bible condemns it, does not mean it is objectively wrong or harmful.

But, that you are satisfied with that as a final answer suggests mindlessness.

Quote:If I'm more "clever" I'll answer it using science? Nonsense. The science is there, and it is somewhat relevant, but it's certainly not the underlying basis for sin and morality.

Obviously it isn't. The underlying basis for sin and morality, in Biblical terms, are the ancient bigotries and prejudices of bronze-age shepherds in Israel. Which, for some insane reason, continue to persist long after everybody should know better.

Quote:And maybe you don't remember God going to Sodom at Abraham's instance and not finding any righteous people except for Lot?

Of course I remember, and that is the hypocrisy of it. God condemns Sodom for not caring about the poor and needy, but he does not spare those poor and needy when it's killing time.

Quote:Who fabricated it and why?

Who knows the exact people or their motivations, and who cares? What difference does it make? It's still a fabrication.

You know, if it wasn't for the idiots that really take it to heart, the bible would totaly rock as a new age fiction comedic book.ROFLOL

Oh no I wouldn't call it a fiction. There must be some fans of the Twilight movies somewhere. I'm just not willing to go into the theater when its playing to bear witness directly.

Here I must tell you somethings which not all christians are equipped to tell you.... however, they should know the difference and be aware of it.

Marriage by the church and civil marriage are two different things.
The church imbues the act of marriage with some mumbo-jumbo which they call a sacrament. And they only allow marriages between a man and a woman. It's their institution, their rules, they can do whatever the hell they want with their associates.
The civil marriage is the real contract that two people make and the one that is valid in a court of law.

From the church's POV, when they speak about marriage, they mean only the religious marriage, not "the other one". If two gay people cannot get married by the church, then you simply cannot speak of married gay people. It doesn't exist, to them.
Hence, any sexual relationship between them, will always be sinful... to the christians (and other religions.... choose all that apply).

I hope I cleared that detail. Now go on with your reasoning.

No, when fundies speak about marriage, they are speaking about civil marriage, as well. They don't differentiate. They can't discern the difference.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.

As I said, they should know the difference... If they can't discern it, then some lower mental power is at work in them. Tongue
