Well, I like the atmosphere of the world when it's snowing. You can only see so far and after that, it's just whiteness. It makes it seem like the whole world has closed in, becoming small and cozy. Anyone else get this feeling?
Also, my craving for intimacy and general social interaction seem to grow during this time of year.

Kinda like the way the Muslims accept the Jews and the Jews accept the Hindu and the Hindu accept the Christians and the Christians accept ..... oh that's right, we still live in a world where religious people blow up abortion clinics and fly planes into skyscrapers.
Am I required to love Santa's fat ass and the violent homophobic teachings of Jesus just because some guy wants me to "turn the other cheek?"
Are we non-believers not allowed to show disdain for a stupid holiday? Am I required to celebrate Valentine's Day too just because some halfwit says, "hey be nice - it's christmas" ??
I would never condone taking someone's freedom away to celebrate any holiday ... that doesn't mean I can't voice my disdain for it. Furthermore, Christmas isn't like any other holiday in this country. It's damn near a requirement outside of your own home - what with the required gift-giving from family and friends, work, school and your kid's daycare. The total saturation of the holiday is inescapable. It's literally forced on everyone. Between santa, the baby jesus, and every fucktard celebrity singing Joy to the World in every public building one enters it's enough to want to blow your own god damn head off.
You like Christmas, well whoopie for you. Does that mean I should call you small-minded?
... talk about accepting one another. Whatever.

Doesn't happen very often in MY neighborhood dude.
Where do you live, Sesame Street?

You're lecturing ME about judging a group as a whole?!??!!!!!?
First you JUDGE the actions of some non-believers by essentially telling them to "hush up and be nice about christmas cause I think you're small minded." Then you compound that bit of idiocy by telling me that I'm judging a minority when you yourself write the following:

My official position now: You are a stupid fuck who either needs to re-evaluate his conflicting ideas or simply needs to pay a LOT more attention to what he is writing.
Let me remind you before you reply: You're the one who said that people who show their disdain for christmas are small-minded. So YOU can start explaining yourself or go back to your middle school where your douche baggery may be less noticeable.

He's just trying to antagonize you. His lifeblood is the angry, emotional responses he provokes. Just ignore him.

Your rationality is inversely proportional to your use of gratuitous question marks.
My statement about hating Christians was sarcastic mockery of the small-minded intolerance in the atheist community, an intolerance I am fighting to overturn for the benefit of of the community. Atheism becomes stronger when we are willing to relate to all faiths and positions.
Yours sincerely in using fewer question marks from now on,
Vinny G.

How many people here claim to hate Christians as a general rule? I don't know of any. We may hate the beliefs, and may be irked by fundies and those who ignore logic, but I don't know of anyone here who would say "I hate Christians" (except you, apparently.)
