You are correct, actually. The rule says: "It is not appropriate to make a public thread to complain about another user."

However, Germans said that he didn't know about that rule, so I'll be more forgiving to him this time.

The OP mainly outlines the reasons why Vinny is theoretically not an atheist - and I think it's not totally unjustified to call him out like that - especially because of being provokingly disingenuous and sometimes vague about his religious views, and then trying to insult atheists under the guise of being an atheist himself (although we are still not 100% sure about that). So, even though what Germans posted is technically against the rules, I think it was not something totally uncalled for either; I am a little split on this. And Vinny was already insulted in many different threads anyways.

Germans, that was a nice little research you did, I think, but next time, please do not make threads in which your attacks are specifically directed at a single member.

... And I'm sure you won't do it again because you're a smart guy.

I am not one to say what the staff shold or shouldn't do, but I'd prefer to see a ban on vinny instead of closing the thread. We have derailed it to a much profitable discussion, e.g. cooking
