Touching Christmas Tale

Really, do I have to torpedo this again? Damn thing just won't stay dead:

Episode One
Episode Two

According to one erstwhile member who raised this spectre initially (at least during my tenure here), even astronomer John Mosley himself, whose legitimate observations but dubious conclusions spawned the entire article you cited, doesn't think that any such portentous - or pretentious - planetary peripatations support the biblical Beth Star.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I read that thread. Nothing got torpedoed as far as I can see.

Bible still in tact. No specific dates asserted.
Astronomy still in tact. No specific event dates asserted.

Wise men come to Jerusalem looking for Jesus talking to Herod - nobody knows where He is. Maybe not born yet. No problems.

Wise men hang around for months/years. Keep looking at stars etc.

Mary conceives. Jesus is born.

Herod gets older/more desperate. Orders babies murdered. Herod dies.

Where is the problem?

Too late for him to do what? Nobody is claiming he did anything post-mortem.

You answered your own question when you said

Quote:Mary conceives. Jesus is born.

Since Herod died in March of 4 BC, it stands to reason that Jesus was born prior to this point. That our Lord was also born after 6 AD is a miracle of time, certainly within our Lord's power to do.
