Death penalty for rapists?
#91
RE: Death penalty for rapists?
i vote no because there are too many instances of false accusations of rape to just put people to death for it, and its a crime based on wether the girl said no or not, it seems like a cloudy topic in some instances.
But saying that if somone raped somone in my family and i knew it was them id take pleasure in torturing them to death for weeks until they wished they werent even born in the first place

Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.

Impersonation is treason.

The 'waist of bullets' is a legitimate concern. Even though we don't actually shoot anyone when we execute them, we do have to spend a lot more executing them than we would have to spend keeping them imprisioned for the rest of their life. We have to pay to keep them separate from general population while in prison, we have to hire extra guards and pay for extra utilities to cover the area where they're being kept separate. We have to pay for them to get lawyers and appeal their trial and sentencing and everything. All those costs add up.

I'm not fond of prison work, though. Corporations are constantly looking for ways to get cheap labor and prison labor might be their best option. They can claim they're creating American jobs by hiring prisoners to work for them, but their workforce will make just $2.00 an hr. What's more, I'm hearing about prisons putting prisoners in telemarketing or other telephone sales positions. I don't exactly feel comfortable with the idea of people having to give out personal information to convicts like that.

yea i know that ..

I think that people who do crimes and go to prison should work so that they could pay their staying there. And they should work where they are isolated from the rest of the world, like coal mines,....farms

No one is assuming that there won't be a "fair trial" and due process. I am focusing on keeping said convicted alive for 20+ years as opposed to a death penalty.
Mmmm, and you ignored when I brought up the WM3. If you don't know about the case, you don't know about the case ... 3 of them convicted of murder, 1 sentenced to death. Trial judge was replaced, and they were all let out after serving 18 years (in exchange for agreeing not to have re-trial which they would have been entitled to and which would have acquitted them). If the death penalty had been carried out, well then Echols wouldn’t be free would he? He'd be dead.

Those who are evil must be purged to protect the innocent. If you rape someone, there is no coming back for you, no therapy that can change you. Souls like anything can expire and rot. The best thing you can do at that point is to bin it.

I`d like to hear a court testemony one day in which the judge or the prosecution talks about the offenders "soul".

I'm speaking metaphorically, obviously there is no 'soul'.

Evil rarely reforms, and the more extreme cases are evil, the more unlikely it is you will recover.

Isn't that where transwomen are put to death and lesbians raped to try to 'turn them straight'?

Funny place, that one. Apartheid never really ended, did it?

Because joe average rapist is evil, amiright? Sleepy

No coming back from mistakes, nor therapy able to assist a troubled person. Might as well hang all debtors and be rid of worthless psychologists forever.

A metaphysical substance can physically expire and rot. I'll have to remember that.

Oh it's obvious now. Quaint, and here I see absolutely no way of telling whether or not souls are. I'd be more inclined to err on correctness: everything exists, nothing exists, something always exists.

What *is* evil? I'd really like to know what's so special about it that one who might be branded as such might ne'er become branded 'good'(?) or neutral or a banana.

Granted... bananas ARE evil. But they can recover from that label with the returning of somehting they once stole from me.

Maybe I should rape someone. It's self defense: otherwise they might have raped me. Can never be too sure with bananas and their ilk. Best if you break a few bones during the event that way you defend yourself from their revenge! Tiny Tiger

Morality is based on objectivism, and rationality - Universally Preferable Behaviour- for example, nothing is gained by two men stealing from each other, but a lot is gained if the two men co-operate and produce something together.

The initiation of violence is the worst thing in humanity, and rape falls under that category. Those who break this law are evil.
