At the cost of 34,935 lives, 2 orders of magnitude larger than from firearm accidents. Firearms accidents caused 606 deaths, 72 of whom were children.
How many thousands of children were killed in automobile accidents?
More of our young die by texting while driving (>3000) than by firearm accidents. That's five times as many as all accidental gun deaths.
Teenagers are just accidents waiting to happen.

I would hesitate to call cars a necessary evil. They don't even seem to be a thoroughly considered evil. The notion that our society would crumble without cars ignores that in many of the densest parts of "our society" people -do- live without cars - and a world without cars would solve a hell of alot of related problems. Meh, why not go with both? Ban cars and guns - for the same reason (I could think of more reason to ban cars, personally). The we'd have ourselves a -much- safer and cleaner country. Plenty of other benefits from increased foot travel and more consolidated transportation - and you'd barely have to worry about getting shot on the bus or walking down the street at all. Anybody else got something they want to remove from their neighbors hands?

If accidental firearm deaths are only 0.3/100,000, does that mean that the 10.0/100,000 other firearm deaths are intentional?
And you think that 10/100,000 intentional deaths compares favorably with 19.1/100,000 accidental deaths. 
I ask only for clarification of your position. I don't expect to change mine.
So how, exactly, does God know that She's NOT a brain in a vat?

Most firearm related deaths are suicides. Pretty much the definition of intentional. I'd actually be more worried about the product that kills people who don't want to die.
