Texas gun rights group reenacts Paris massacre with ‘armed civilian’ — and everyone still dies

Over the weekend, a Texas gun rights group repeatedly reenacted the Charlie Hebdo massacre in order to determine whether it could have been prevented if one of the editors or cartoonists had been armed, CBS DFW reports.

Members of the group, “The Truth About Guns,” recreated the Hebdo offices, then took turns playing the role of the “armed civilian” in the scenario.

No matter how the situation played out, though, one thing remained consistent — if the “armed civilian” confronted the attackers, he or she died. The only time the “armed civilian” survived was when the volunteer playing him ran away at the first sound of gunfire.

This is not terribly surprising. One person with a handgun against two trained men with automatic weapons has predictable results.

In some runs of the scenario, one of the gunmen was killed - that's better than no gunman killed.

A North Carolina gun manufacturer has called on the firearm industry to boycott actor Liam Neeson over the Taken 3 star’s controversial comments about guns.

In a Facebook post, PARA USA said the company now regretted providing firearms to be used in the Taken 3 film.

“While the film itself is entertaining, comments made by its Irish-born star during press junkets reflect a cultural and factual ignorance that undermines support of the Second Amendment and American liberties,” the company said.

And what terrible thing did Neesom say?

“There’s too many f—ing guns out there. Especially in America,” he remarked. “I think the population is like, 320 million? There’s over 300 million guns. Privately owned, in America. Doomsday ‘prepper’ dead after trailer park shooting rampage and fiery explosion

State troopers were called Saturday night to Riverside Estates Mobile Home Park in Buchanan, where neighbors reported gunshots being fired at their trailer homes.

No one was injured by the hail of gunfire, but neighbors were forced to take cover in bathtubs and under furniture as bullets riddled the insides of their homes.

The man, later identified by as Ted Lanser, then fled to his own home and engaged troopers in a brief standoff.

He then set fire to the trailer, where he kept thousands of rounds of ammunition, and then shot himself to death.
