So a few weeks ago I came down with the flu. But I didn't after all. On the 7th I went to the hospital where they admitted me to the ICU to treat me for a bad case of pneumonia. How'd the first doc miss that?

A strange couple of weeks

Oh dear! I thought your "flu" was lasting quite a while. ):
Are you on the mend yet?
I've been told that I'll be moved out of intensive care later today and that I may get to go home in a day or two.
Sorry long story;
Many years ago I heard on the radio a statistic that 40% of initial diagnosis are wrong which is why you should always stay in-touch with your doctor if the illness is not developing as expected. I was managing a firm at the time which undertook very disparate projects. And there would be occasional jobs which which though an initial slight mistake the process of completing the job would cause great problems. I wondered if in medical practice they had a set system to identify problems quickly. I asked a friend of mine who was a Harley street surgeon (Top British physician) about this. 'No system, just the doctor asking the right questions each time.' he said. 'So your just reliant on the Doctor?' I asked 'Why do you think I am paid so much, my dear boy?' he said.
Get well soon!

Oh I'm getting better, just need the docs to be convinced that I'm ready to go home.
P.S. smoke free 12 days!
Doc says that I get to go home tomorrow!
I hope he's right this time....for your sake.
