Well, I'm relieved there's a simple non-aliens answer anyway. I was starting to think my screen was upside down, or my eyes were.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I used to have that problem but I found rubbing my blades with the fatty bits of my victims keeps them pleasingly shiny.

A glitch perhaps?? Either way I do use Preview frequently and that is how I know NOT to use imgfit.
Did you read what I wrote? I told you that happens with [imgfit]. If the image is smaller than the width of the page, [imgfit] will make it larger, rather than shrinking it.

The name "imgfit" means it will fit the image to the width of the page. It doesn't try and do anything else.
