When do you plan to Convert to Christanity?
|
I'll convert the very day your god shows itself to me in an unambiguous way.
The truth is absolute. Life forms are specks of specks (...) of specks of dust in the universe.
Why settle for normal, when you can be so much more? Why settle for something, when you can have everything?
Is it necesary for others to try to ridicule those who do?

No but I think believers secretly enjoy someone like Richard Dawkins or Christopher Hitchens going off on one. They would probably prefer it to being politely ignored as superstious eccentrics, you're getting some decent traction there.
never. even if it were true i would bow to that piece of shit. now when are you gonna use that brain you seem to not use and think for yourself . by that i mean rationality.

Quote:frOdO says: One man religion huh. How is it that 80% of the religious Christians that I know, have their beliefs in line with what he believes? They believe in the tenets of love above all, and that it's not their place to tell anyone they're going to hell, and when asked they'll all agree that they would not try to legislate their biblical laws into common law. Most of them don't go to church. Huh. Take my mom, for instance, who lives her life solely to serve the invalid with no hope of being rewarded in this life--in the name of Jesus. Her witness to her god, is in her actions and I respect her highly for that, despite my personal belief on the subject. The other 20% of christians I know are extremists, mainly believing that Athiests cannot do any good, and that women should not own land, the LGBT community are the reason the country is going to hell, etc etc. And they go to church every Sunday. I don't respect these people in any way whatsoever. The christians like you are usually the ones who have a stake in their religion, whatever it may be: power, self-motivations, money. Unfortunately those christians run things for the rest of the real Christians and typically get their word (and will) out far better than someone who is more concerned about living life in love and light, but you're definitely not the majority. In fact, I know that there are christians like you frOdO but I tend to avoid going anywhere near them for a reason. Because they're false, they live the bible but don't live for their true god and his intentions. They believe that they're right when they're wrong, they try to tell others how to live, and overall they make a mockery of religion, just as you have here. I disagree with catfish that you're a troll, I truly think you believe what you believe and that you advocate it thinking you're right. Hence the reason I don't think you represent your religion in any positive way whatsoever and I certainly don't think that you should be here spouting off self righteous bull, as you do more harm than good to god--but hey that's your right to do, I'm not saying you should leave. I'm just pointing out that you certainly don't speak for your religion accurately. This shows me you're here for another reason, whatever that reason is. Personally I am glad you're here, you confirm for me and others what religion can do when wielded the wrong way, and how humanity can take anything and make it a weapon. You mock your own brother openly and cause confusion to those who don't know why. In essence, you're defaming your god in the name of your own selfish reasons.
If I were to create self aware beings knowing fully what they would do in their lifetimes, I sure wouldn't create a HELL for the majority of them to live in infinitely! That's not Love, that's sadistic. Therefore a truly loving god does not exist!
Quote:The sin is against an infinite being (God) unforgiven infinitely, therefore the punishment is infinite. Dead wrong. The actions of a finite being measured against an infinite one are infinitesimal and therefore merit infinitesimal punishment. Quote:Some people deserve hell. I say again: No exceptions. Punishment should be equal to the crime, not in excess of it. As soon as the punishment is greater than the crime, the punisher is in the wrong. |
