If you think that's a good candidate, think about this guy:
Well, his utter ignorance of Catholic dogma would mean that the Church would have a whole new start.

Being Pope has to be Soooo out of style these days. Who really wants that job?
I agree with selection of Father Guido Sarducci if there Must be a Pope.

To the contrary, the man could most likely build quite a large harem of brainwashed women without anyone noticing or caring.
Such a position of power would offer innumerable advantages to someone who would accept them. Most recent Popes have been wasting their opportunities, actually.
It would only take a few falsified miracles to persuade your most devoted followers (of which there are thousands) to do anything you wished. But, naturally, the job will be given to weak old fools without ambition or vision, and the church will continue to flounder.

You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence.

Ah...........
http://itccs.org/2013/02/13/pope-benedic...by-easter/
Quote:The historically unprecedented resignation of Joseph Ratzinger as Pope this week was compelled by an upcoming action by a European government to issue an arrest warrant against Ratzinger and a public lien against Vatican property and assets by Easter.
The ITCCS Central Office in Brussels is compelled by Pope Benedict's sudden abdication to disclose the following details:
1. On Friday, February 1, 2013, on the basis of evidence supplied by our affiliated Common Law Court of Justice (itccs.org), our Office concluded an agreement with representatives of a European nation and its courts to secure an arrest warrant against Joseph Ratzinger, aka Pope Benedict, for crimes against humanity and ordering a criminal conspiracy.
2. This arrest warrant was to be delivered to the office of the "Holy See" in Rome on Friday, February 15, 2013. It allowed the nation in question to detain Ratzinger as a suspect in a crime if he entered its sovereign territory.
Deliciously ironic if they put him on the rack and made him confess...

There was apparently a female Pope disguised as a man called Joan.

But Catholics dismiss it as a legend these days because there is no...evidence that it ever happened. You know what they say about extraordinary claims.

Deliciously ironic if they put him on the rack and made him confess... I read this today: http://itccs.org/ I know almost nothing about some of the groups mentioned in the articles. I have know idea if this is bullshit or not. Still, I can't help imagining it happening. Holy shit. hock:
I have studied the Bible and the theology behind Christianity for many years. I have been to many churches. I have walked the depth and the breadth of the religion and, as a result of this, I have a lot of bullshit to scrape off the bottom of my shoes. ~Ziploc Surprise
