Were I to join that server, it would be as a hardcore greifer and builder in solitude. I would find your city... and, oh wait: all your shit is towny, isn't it? 
Towny is bullshit in a pvp-server. Carebears, all of them. Wouldn't know proper minecraft defense systems (how not to be seen, traps... the good stuff), because they engage in zero-risk play. If all the player houses and shit is towny: there is no reason to play for me.
Anyway... it's not about extras being 'needed': it's simply that there are more options available if you add more options. You haven't built anything yet... ever worked with redstone before? What a hassle... wouldn't you just kill for circuit blocks? Oh wait! Suddenly, you can build about a bazilion more things. Or paint? The handsaw? Good artistic and functional features that vanilla minecraft simply doesn't have... and that's all there is to it  There are *EXTRA THINGS* which the original game cannot (or chooses to not) do.

I don't need the extras. I'll just learn redstone. Lol. But out city is secret, still. there are some places that are more welcoming, but they are destroyed quickly. We don't make that mistake. Lol

So... towny isn't allowed, or towny is allowed?  Can't greif or otherwise change someone's blocks in towny, pain in the ass.

Well, the server allows griefing, but we don't do it typically. We just organized a bunch of shit and besides fucking with people's houses, you can build whatever. Again, I live in a city, but not everyone on the server does. I know plenty of people who are factionless and homeless and just wander the wastes. I wouldn't want to do it, but hey, whatever floats your boat. All I'm saying is that this server is wicked fun.
Also: Apple isn't all that cutting edge, they just market themselves incredibly well.  Why else would anyone pay that much for junk?

Oi! I like my phone. Its the only bloody phone that I've ever been able to use. Plus it has a case that makes it look like a gameboy... except really small and thin..

In all seriousness I genuinely don't understand any other phone. If somebody asks me to make a call, send a text or anything with their phone I usually make a complete tit out of myself. Its hilarious.

I know right! I get handed a phone and they may as well have given me an alien artifact.
As for minecraft I pretty much always play solo. People on servers always want to 'help' me and then ruin whatever I was making. That or I finish and just feel like it isn't mine because I had help.
