I simply cannot manage to talk about my problems and always make a big curve arround the "depression" threads.

I find it easier to talk to strangers online. There is no emotional investment or forced daily contact.

Whenever you want to. You can do it for any reason you want, whenever you want. No one can determine when that is acceptable for you. It is your relationship. That being said, I wouldn't for anything short of a horrible occurrence, but I expect that you live your life how you see fit, not how I live mine.

Easy, you talk about what you can and leave out what you find personal. I actually rarely talk about the details of my personal life, but I do disclose general facts, such as that I'm a writer and other mental health details. I do not disclose the ins and outs of my family problems, etc. I find these things personal. Besides, you did kind of write a lot of personal stuff in this thread. Looks like you can do it too. Does anyone else here suffer from nightmares in which he or she constantly relives traumatic events?

I have nightmares about things that have happened to me, but they are not the actual events, but rather similar ones in a dreamscape. If it was something very traumatic, that is a symptom of post-traumatic stress disorder.

RE: Parents
Yeah, they were not the sort of "traumatic" events one might think of, but they had a huge impact on my life.

Whenever you want. Whenever you would deem it necessary to cease contact with any other person.

Yes, though it's more common for me to relive them while I'm fully awake.

RE: Parents
If things got too bad I would stop communication. I love them so much, but I will not let them affect my life enough to waste time that I will never get back. Life is too short. I will not let them hurt me enough that it will go down to my kids. As far as my kids needing their grandparents... I grew up with none and I never felt I needed them. Sounds selfish, but as a parent I have to provide parental love, guidance, support, etc. Not grandparents. At least that's how I feel.

By the way, I soooooo need therapy lol I keep digging and finding all these issues I deal with and I have to fight every day. So, it's funny how I'm majoring in Psychology, huh? Wink

I keep dreaming that my family is laughing at me. They are laughing loudly and in a way that I feel ashamed, humiliated, and totally in despair. I wake up crying. In traumatic events... I had actually erased some (per say) from my memory and they recently came back in a dream. lol wtf
