BTW, I read Edward's review of this site, and he scored us from 1 to 10 on the level of obscenity on the forums. 1 being the most filthy and 10 being the most clean. We only got a 4. I think we can do better.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

Reading up on Oz does NOT prepare you for the reality...our quirky sense of humour ..(watch out for Drop Bears) our hard work ethic/ recreational ethic.
Yeah I love my country as you do yours. It is ugly, hard, full of idiots and bludgers. But it is home and I HATE seeing a new arrival being lost in the desert and found dead when he/ she could have taken simple precautions.
Please also be aware of the "Wallace Line" The country is literally split in two climatically
Oh yes it is very dangerous. Crocodiles, 9 out 10 most venom potent snakes, hell even the kangaroos will mess you up. I think that (oddly) is what appeals me Australia. A reminder that we are at the mercy of nature. And if i ever go i will do more site seeing and stay away from deserts. Especially with my baby girls they come before me and that just would not be safe. Speaking of which you or zen ever have any encounters with crocodiles or venomous snakes? Heard some pretty crazy stuff with reptile encounters out there

Not so much as you would think justin. My concern is that people come here, enjoy the stay and Live past it. We are in Perth and the worst we have encountered was a Taipan/ Brown Snake on the road whilst motorcycle riding. There is the resident black widow- RED BACK spiders along with the White Tails but beyond that in the "burbs" it is small scale.
Now in Darwin (love the reference) you get crocs (both salty and fresh water) walking into the house to say hi! Buffolo and Roos and Camels and well everything that the tropics can throw at you. Actually Indonesia is very tame and probably why so many Aussies go there for a bit of R&R

I'm gonna say 2 maybe? Hmm, although, he does love being banned from forums, so maybe he saw that as a good thing.

My 60 year old Aunt had one come up two flights (don't quote me on that , might have been one) stairs to "knock " on her door in Far North Queensland.
