Made some pan-seared pork chops tonight - after brining them for 24 hours. Note to self: go easy on the seasoning after brining.

Every time I go round to my mate Shell's place, I have to pass a very enticing-looking pub/restaurant that specialises in Indian cuisine. The aromas I'm forced to walk through are simply amazing; we're definitely going to have to call in and nom our way down the menu first chance we get.

In the meantime, I spoiled myself with a treat from a new Indian food street kiosk that's appeared recently - chicken curry, with rice and salad (so I can say I'm on a diet), all for three quid.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I'm up early to do the reading I was too tired to do last night.

I'm drinking cola and spring water, but I have this yucky acid taste in my mouth, and can't think what to do to cure it. Wondering if coffee won't make it worse.
