Removing it from your property is not murder, even if its only method of survival was by leeching off of you. A lot of ifs there, which are usually allowed by 'pro life'. We already have that law in the UK. (March 31, 2013 at 4:46 am)Kayenneh Wrote:(March 30, 2013 at 11:07 pm)jstrodel Wrote: So what is the argument that a fetus is part of the women's body? That isn't self evident to me? Where is the evidence that a fetus is part of the mothers body? I'm sorry I don't see how that's relevant at all.
I am talking about when I had NO pay check fr0d0
When a woman becomes pregnant, the placenta develops first of any organs. The placenta produces the hormones that sustain the pregnancy, preventing the woman's body from rejecting the fetus. Without the placenta the woman's immune system would identify the fetus as a foreign body and cause a miscarriage.

And how does that even start to address the question of a fetus being part of the mother?
The whole implantation part of pregnancy. It's not the fetus that implants, it's the placenta. And where does it implant? The woman's uterus. It's like building a house on an empty lot, if the owner decides to kick you off their land, and tear down the house you built.

Germaine Greer argues in Sex & Destiny that the poor use children as a sort of ersatz social welfare system. I'm not sure I would accept it in those terms, but for whatever reason, it appears that poor people have more babies.

Not a lot of other easily defensible reasons to get an abortion... albeit only because in an ideal world the other points are moot (social safety-nets, adoption, etc). I'm not affiliated with 'pro life' groups... hence I have to employ liberal use of 'if' if I'm to suspend my personal beliefs to speak on their level and with their understandings. Were I to not express that these are not my beliefs, then people would probably just assume I was some sort of psycho. And they'd be right, albeit for all the wrong reasons Please give me a home where cloud buffalo roam

Well, you can probably dispense with the if's then. |
