No, as much as there are parts of my life that I wished hadn't happened, I'm still alive.
By going back and changing things you could redirect your life to an early death.
And if my life hadn't played out the way it did I wouldn't have met Kichi, and that makes up for all the crappy bits.

-If I had a time machine- rearranging the events of my life would probably be the last thing that occurred to me. I don't even think that I'd waste my time -in my time machine- scoping out any part of human history.

Yah, I'm think HG wells type time machine chair - and if I can get the recliner option I'd probably just bolt a minifridge to it - and cruise around drunk and fat watching shit go down - pointing and laughing.

I use a sort of time machine all the time to change my past.
By doing tantric meditation is possible to burn reactions from previous actions.
Once the reaction is gone you automatically don't have to worry anymore about your past or part of your past according to the effort that you put in that task.
Every action has got to have a reaction in the good or in the bad so the only way to avoid reactions is a lot of hard work and that work has got to be done internally.
The time can be manipulated has you wish but again is hard work.
Have you noted that when you are happy the time is so short but when you are not happy the time is longer and longer.
Again is all hard work and no external machine can help.

Thus exposing the conundrum faced by any time traveler. If you are there to prevent your birth, you have either already failed at what you will one day attempt to do, or any specific timeline is ultimately meaningless faced with the reality of all possible timelines.

I dropped out of school as well
Took me 4 extra years or so to get into uni (but i got a language out of it)
I'd be tempted... (assuming 'back to the future' style time travel where its still actually 'you', just with a new history)

If I had a time machine I'd spend most of my time making it look like the TARDIS before I even took it for a ride. 
And after that, well... I'd have a goddamn TARDIS. Why in the hell would I ever want to go back and look at something I've already seen?
