It's interesting that the title of this thread and what's stated in your sole topic sentence are different things. Can you ever believe there is no god? Can you ever know that there is know god? Two totally different concepts that Theists sometimes have a hard time wrapping their head around as they consider what they believe and what they know to be the same thing.

you can argue against traits of god. Like a person walking on water. But even then its more of a probability thing. You can't really say there is "no god, gods, or higher power". To make that claim, you would need extraordinary evidence to support that extraordinary claim.

If there is no evidence for the existence of something, it should be understood that the something in question does not exist. Can one ever believe that there is no god? Sure. Can one ever know that there is no god? Technically, no. An omnipotent being could hide himself forever if he really wanted to.

This is just rediculous.
The guy is effectively spamming all over the forum ignoring all replies and repeating ad nauseum the same tripe over and over and over. Surely enough is enough. We've all seen this guy isn't here to learn about our answers to his questions. You'd believe if you just opened your heart" is a terrible argument for religion. It's basically saying, "If you bias yourself enough, you can convince yourself that this is true." If religion were true, people wouldn't need faith to believe it -- it would be supported by good evidence. |
