The atheists want your children (according to K. Ham)

The atheists want your children (according to K. Ham)
Recently, Ken Ham and Mark Looy published an article, in which they say:
"These secularists want to impose their anti-God religion on the culture. They are simply not content using legislatures and courts to protect the dogmatic teaching of their atheistic religion of evolution and millions of years in public schools."

Mr. Ham and Mr. Looy elucidate an example of the Blue Ridge Christian Academy (where a creationist test was given to fourth graders, which resulted into "atheist attacks and even some threats" after a picture of the test went viral on the Internet) and then they write:
"We, too, have experienced recent increased attacks by atheists, especially whenever they discover we are influencing children with the truth of God’s Word.
These anti-God people hate the fact that Christians are teaching children to stand on the authority of the Bible; they want to be the ones teaching children and indoctrinating them into atheism."

After stating that they are victims of 'intolerant' atheists (or secularists, they use it as synonyms):
"In a way, what is happening to this Christian school and also to the Romeike family [German Christian family who is seeking asylum in America because the German government forbids their homeschool instruction] should be a warning to all Christians: the atheists want your children. They are aggressively trying to demonize and marginalize Christians in their attempts to recruit your children for atheism or secularism. (...)
We are aware that the overwhelming majority of children raised in the church attend public schools, and thus it should not be surprising that with all the secularist indoctrination in schools, about two-thirds of our young people brought up in church are walking away from it by the time they reach college age."

(Looy, M. & K. Ham (04/30/2013), "Intolerant Atheists Viciously Attack Christian School", http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles...ian-school)

Why would atheists want to recruit people? What would they be recruited to do?

I misread one of their names as Mr. Looney. I think I'll stick with that. Much more appropriate.

I should also note that their arguments are enormously ironic...for obvious reasons.

I rather do dislike the fact that children are indoctrinated into a backwards and hateful religion which stunts intellectual growth and promotes persecution and violence as part of its dogma.

If you take that statement and remove the incorrect assumptions that Christianity is good and atheism is bad (and the obvious hyperbole surrounding it), what do you have? Teach children to respect humanity rather than look down upon it, and to understand the world without relying on dumb superstitions, is a perfectly laudable goal.

Marvelous. I didn't think the plot was working so well. Time to double down on the 1/3 who are too fucking stupid to get the hint. It would be a tragedy if they grew up to be Waldork's or G-C's or Tex's.

Come on atheists! Work harder. Stamp out bible-based stupidity!!!!

You have to remember that to these assholes secularism equals atheism, and anyone that isn't pushing religion is inherently pushing atheism. By their logic, my Christian parents actually indoctrinated me into atheism.

And yes, I do want their children...with a side of fava beans and a nice chianti.

Ham and Loopy are perfect textbook examples of religiously motivated paranoid projection (and if that's not already a thing, it is now). Distilling their comments down to "if you're not with us, you're against us - and your silence proves complicity" shows just how far into batshit tinfoil hat territory they really are.

Also I want to thank everyone for not putting up a picture of the oleaginously odious Ken Ham while I'm trying to eat and would request that the ensuing gallery of such images I've just invited be placed inside hide tags, with suitable warnings for the easily queased.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'
