A club exists at my school for the purpose of evangelizing students

RE: A club exists at my school for the purpose of evangelizing students
We may not know what would really happen unless an atheist club is started and they spread flyers around to convince people that their god is as real as a sponge with squared pants who can talk. Do it. All the theists here, allow for your kids to receive flyers trying to deconvert them. Allow for them to go to meetings where they will provide their contact information so atheists can follow up and convince them that your teachings are bullshit.

Do it! And then report back.
Pointing around: "Fuck you, fuck you, fuck you, you're cool, fuck you, I'm out!"

Are they being funded by public schools? If so Then i understand because that is dealing with government endorsement with religious agenda.
If not then let it go man. It will stress you out more than anything. People can say no. people can mock, ridicule, and speak against their beliefs but that is up to them. Have fun with it maybe. Go in and call them on the things that bother you and see how open they are to discussions. this may make them aware that their bullshit can be called out just as easy as it is spews out(freedom of speech works both ways). Let people make their own decision with the info. that doesn`t stop you with point out the nonsense and bringing another conversation to the table in order to influence people to think about their decisions. (With the older group i mean the middle schoolers well idk what to say to that)

It's really skeevy that this is essentially a ministry in a school under the ruse it's really led by students. If the school denies access to the club the organization forces the school to comply. School ends soon, maybe I'll just worry about this next year.

Also, Godschild, I'd like to point out that if there was the same student organization that is atheist rather than Christian, you'd probably be upset by it. Also, Godschild, stop excusing everything because it's your belief. Realize when they cross the line. If you're reading Marine's posts, you'll notice what kind of intense pressure is put on these students to convert, or rather, at least pretend to convert. When you're in an environment like that, it's increasingly difficult to stray away from all the pressure they're putting on you. Again, how would you feel if they were an atheist organization?

Atheism has no belief so how can you have a club, how can you base a club on non belief, to have a club you need to have something to stand on besides believing in nothingness.
You do not know he's telling the truth about student being pressure, you're repeating unsubstantiated statement. You are pulling a double standard you accuse Christians of doing, so either stop or quite complaining.

Would you be saying that if we were discussing a satanist group? A scientologist one? Any ideology that conflicts with your own?

As long as they comply with the law. By the way I consider any non Christian group of Satan.

Atheist have no belief so they have no purpose and they want last as a school club.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

The only purpose of this club is teaching evangelization to Christians and converting non-Christian students to Christianity. Kids are apparently invited to these clubs and presented the gospel and then made to confess Jesus as their savior. They sign a card saying they confess Jesus as their savior or they have more questions to ask before confessing. Group leaders are supposed to report to headquarters how many students have been converted to Christianity.

Good for them!

The lesson to take from the Christian responses is that sleazy, underhanded tactics are acceptable if you're peddling Jesus.

Imagine the response if Muslims were using the same tactic.

So, you're telling me that I am supposed to believe that you would have no problem with Satan spreading his influence among children as long as the law is followed?

How everyone quotes the law...but only to their advantage. Religious and non religious groups have a right to use school facilities as a meeting place...even to recruit new members. If you deny a christain group from recruiting new members...then you have to deny the chess club, or how about marine corp recruiters? Separation of church and state doesn't object to religion practice on goverment property, only the exclusive support of a single religion as being school policy.

I have no qualms denying military recruiters access to schools.

As for chess club, in most cases these are directly operated by the school itself, so denying its own club recruitment drives would not make sense.

Fine. Their purpose could be to rescue kids from ignorance. Would you be fine with this? I'm talking flyers, powerpoints, seminars, regular meetings, contact cards, and anything that could convince them that belief in their god is absurd. Would you be fine with it?

If you can't picture this, then try a Satanic group. That they passed out flyers promoting fun and games then as the kids took a bite they were presented with satanic rituals.

Because your reply just tells me that you'd be fine with it for the reason that it wouldn't last. What if said club did last? Would it be fine?
