What if God was proven to have never existed?

Ok...First off I'm really sorry if this has been done before.
Anyway, if you are religious and believe in a god, what would you do if it was proven without a doubt that god does not exist and has never existed based on the most compelling unarguable evidence.
I know finding evidence like this would be a longshot from now.
But think theoretically....if the evidence proved that god never existed, would you still be religious? Would you still believe in god? Would you continue praying? or would you just throw in the towel by killing yourself because you wasted so much time believing in something that never existed, like your whole life was a lie?

That is some pretty ambitious imagining you are engaged in. With something so ill defined as 'gods' there is as little chance of proving non-existence as proving one exists. My imagination is not up to the task.

OK ... I was religious one day, and I will answer to your question from my past level of consciousness:

He couldn't be proven to be nonexistent, because God is beyond the logic itself , beyond even the self-evident axioms. Even if your mind, logic and science could debate the self-evident axioms, they wouldn't be able to debate God (Allah), because even logic and reason are manifestations of his existence. So if you prove that God doesn't exist by logic, your logic itself demonstrates God to be "existent" (with reservations about describing God as existent)

It's impossible to prove something doesn't exist. You can't even prove unicorns, leprechauns, faeries and rillyns don't exist.
The closest you can get to "proving" god never existed is probably to just present any "evidence" that it does/did exist and point out why it isn't actually evidence till there's no evidence left to pick apart. Even then, absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.
People will believe all kinds of shit, and nothing will convince them it's shit. We all know grown-up people who genuinely believe in horoscopes. There are people who consult psychics and believe they're actually communicating with the dead, despite being told that "psychics" are deliberately vague to begin with then go with your reactions from there. People genuinely believe they were abducted by aliens.

This isn't for me, I know without a doubt god has never existed,
What i am proposing is a theoretical situation, if there was a measurable factor that proved to theists that god does not exist.
