Okay, one position i have came across while living in the good ol bible belt is this.If you live in the BB maybe you have ran across this a time or two.

Humans are immoral by birth and do not what is moral.
through the bible do humans aquire morals or through those that have aquired their morals from the bible and impacted their community by reflecting those morals through their life.
Without the bible or thosee that reflect the bible people would lack morality.

This doesn`t make much sense to me. The logic seems flaw.

1. How would Know if god is moral if humans do not know what morals are? Would a human not be make a judgement on what is moral when deeming god as Moral?
2. What about the immoral acts in the bible?
3. What about the secular countries that seem to be just as moral if not more moral?
4. What about the fact that the bible says the same thing that other religions holy texts say? Is that religion moral without the biblical god?
5. What makes gods morals objective? Is it because he is more powerful? than does that mean the more powerful you are the superior your morals are? Why?

These are just a fraction of the questions i find myself asking the Xtians in BB. Again i Find it all horse shit but people to think i am just "rebelling". which has the same meaning to me as the hindus saying to them they are just rebelling so whatever owever they are group loyal and while i am just trying to discuss with reason and critical thinking i seem to get the bad end of the stick. annoying as hell. From there come the irrational judgements which i then remark a what high standard morals you act on.

I'm sick of seeing and hearing debates about morality. It's a subjective thing. If you get your morals from the Bible and the Bible alone, you're a twisted moron. That's pretty much it.

People give the Bible too much credit, even those who say they do not believe in the Christian God will, at some point and time, quote the Bible to make a point. Many have been so religiously conditioned to believe from birth, that this 2600-year-old book, was somehow inspired by God. If the Bible is the word of God, then the Qur'an is the word of Allah because both books are quite similar. Muslims have their holy book, Christians have their holy book, and neither one was inspired or written by a deity. Both were written by men, who by today's standards, would have the mentality of a smart 5th grader. If anyone feels they need the Bible to establish morals, something is very wrong with that particular person.

These "books" are only 1800 and 1400 years old for a start. Even the Torah is only 2200 years old (if that), otherwise I agree with you AU.

The abrahamic god is a pussy (hence the sadistic bullying over three volumes..) Heck LOTR is much better, at least Sauron was consistent.

Pretty sure that anything with emotion has morals, it might even be that everything with even the most basic value systems has morals. 0.o
