RE: Happily trapped in a glass box.
IDC where you live! I was stating where I was from for relevant information to you to what I would most likely be referring to.What is your deal? I am not up to anything. What exactly are you acussing me of being up to? I may have seen you comment before but that doesn't mean I remember everyone's religious views on here. I have more important thing to concern myself with than remembering which god you believe in, so chill out. Right now all I think is you're snappy and I'll, not stupid so don't put words in my mouth.

Slavery is at an all time high now over 25 million people, what are you doing about it? I mean since you do not believe there's a God shouldn't you be doing something to help besides nothing, which in reality is enabling slavery. You complain about slavery of the past yet ignore what's presently right under your nose, sounds like you just want to play the blame game.

That sound's the point flying right over your head, so I'll make this clear: you taught your kids that they can own slaves? And who they can own? You taught them to kill apostates, people from other religions, gays, anyone different? I doubt it.

The point is not what goes on today, but about what exists in the bible, and what you taught to the kids under your care. I'm willing to bet money that you didn't teach anyone that slavery is okay, and that's because, despite what's in your holy book, you know it's not cool. You know it's immoral.

So, good job being more moral than your god.

God does not teach slavery, especially in the way you're thinking. God actually punished those who practiced the slavery you think of, yes it's right there in scripture, why do you neglect to mention that.
I taught the young people to determine what their beliefs were and how to strengthen them so they would not become apostate.
I taught against all other religions, yet not to run people down for their beliefs, they were to young to begin teaching them the particulars of other religions, I left that to their parents.
I taught against the gay life style and taught the dangers of that life style and any life style that would go against God and their Christian beliefs.
I taught them to study scripture, to bring to light questions they might have about the scriptures, to ask for help in understanding scripture, and to come to their own decisions according to their understanding of scripture. I wanted them to be all they could through Christ. I taught them to be responsible and fight against the wrongs in today's world, things like slavery, drugs, hatred and ect. So you see my former students take to heart what's happening in the world today and are prepared to take on what God has for them in this time, you can bet on this, they do not live in the past, they are moving into the future for a righteous cause.
Did all of them get it, no and it saddens me, but I have the hope of God's word that they carried away with them. Some day it could ring true in their lives.

My religious view is displayed in front of you every time you read my statements, no need to remember and for what are you up to, well there it is in bold. In all it's twisted form, so much of that has been debunked right here on AF, son your late to the arguments. I asked you for your personal opinion as to what evils the church is teaching, not the deluded thoughts of bigoted people, you trust these people to form your opinions, what a shame. In the end I gave my students the desires and tools to form their own opinions, yes I taught against certain things they were to young to be able to determine on their own, but always encouraged them to seek out truth. My guys are way ahead of you in being responsible young adults. At times I still poss questions for them to answer for themselves all to strengthen them for the life ahead of them.

Please try and be original and tell me in your own thoughts what the church or I teaches that's immoral.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Um, because you're lying? That's why I neglected to mention it. Here, try a little Exodus:

The damn bible Wrote:“If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything. 3 If he comes alone, he is to go free alone; but if he has a wife when he comes, she is to go with him. 4 If his master gives him a wife and she bears him sons or daughters, the woman and her children shall belong to her master, and only the man shall go free.

5 “But if the servant declares, ‘I love my master and my wife and children and do not want to go free,’ 6 then his master must take him before the judges.[a] He shall take him to the door or the doorpost and pierce his ear with an awl. Then he will be his servant for life.

So here we have instructions for owning another human being, and a method by which god's chosen people can trick their slaves into staying in their position by giving them a wife and child. Interesting, where's that punishment you spoke of?

Here's how non Hebrew slaves were to be treated, from Leviticus:

that pesky bible again Wrote:However, you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you. You may also purchase the children of such resident foreigners, including those who have been born in your land. You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance. You may treat your slaves like this, but the people of Israel, your relatives, must never be treated this way. (Leviticus 25:44-46 NLT)

Gotta love that racist slavery, that your god apparently doesn't endorse, despite having clear rules for how to do it right there in his holy book!

Quote:I taught the young people to determine what their beliefs were and how to strengthen them so they would not become apostate.

Chronicles and Deuteronomy at least tell you to kill apostates. Did you teach them to do that?

Quote:I taught against all other religions, yet not to run people down for their beliefs, they were to young to begin teaching them the particulars of other religions, I left that to their parents.

But your biblical source goes straight to murder, GC. Are you working against the words of god?!

Quote:I taught against the gay life style and taught the dangers of that life style and any life style that would go against God and their Christian beliefs.

Leviticus, one of the few times homosexuality is even mentioned, says to murder them. Did you teach your kids that? Or did you soften the blow, talk about how "dangerous" it is? Why aren't you following the bible, GC?

Quote:I taught them to study scripture, to bring to light questions they might have about the scriptures, to ask for help in understanding scripture, and to come to their own decisions according to their understanding of scripture.

If you'd actually studied the scripture yourself, you'd be outfitting those kids with combat training, not bible verses. They have a lot of murder to do.

Oh, and by the way, you don't have to answer any of those questions I asked up there. I already know the answers: you've got a bunch of blithering apologetics, spoken out of the side of your mouth, to give yourself an excuse for putting the laws of men (who'd put your ass in jail for really living biblically) when it suits you. I don't need to hear it.

Godschild i don`t read your comments that often so chill and yes i would have to remember your religious views in order speak about the god you worship. There are different religious people that use this forum other than yourself. And what i am up to? you asked what immoral things are in the bible. I provided three different site with a convenient index of various Immoral teachings. you speak as if i am being sneaky or have a alternative agenda. of which i do not.

Twisted form? This is in your bible. these are the teaching of right and wrong according to the bible. you act like i just made this up or something. And it has been debunked? You really are delusional. The bible is clear unlike your reasoning "son". These teaching of the bible are evil, the church teaches the bible. And i trust these people to form my opinions? Dude the arrogance of which you speak is insane! I read and form my own opinion. i have never spoken to anyone on the sites. they are just verses of which i told you can double check and read for yourself. Yeah shame on me.....
In the end I gave my students the desires and tools to form their own opinions, yes I taught against certain things they were to young to be able to determine on their own, but always encouraged them to seek out truth.
i don`t believe you. Baseless assertions as far as i am concerned. If you taught them the bible than you taught them a 2000 year old stone age myth. of course you`re not gonna state you intellectually took advantage of the youth and brainwashed them to believe the B.S religion you follow. You have already shown me you are way to arrogant for that.

You have no idea who i am or what i am like. how dare you insult me! seriously the arrogance is absurd. Your intellectual insecurities or superiority complex is showing through and is restricting the progress of this conversation.

Hmmm, listen to Paul or listen to Jesus?
Matthew 5:18
"For I assure you: until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or one stroke of a letter will pass from the law until all things are accomplished."
Thanks for unknowingly displaying that your holy book contradicts itself. You make things so easy.Clap

More than that, what we've got from John there is an admission that following the perfect and inerrant law of the creator of the universe is less important than keeping out of jail.

So... cool.
