I'd hate to meet you on the highway...

Laws are heuristic, so when your flibbity flobity noodly understanding of morals intersects the laws of your area, you will find out that much of morality is codified into law, then interpreted by courts.
we make our own personal morality. why is that so fucking difficult to comprehend?
if people deny me freedom, MY personal ethics says they warrant punishment.
Would you prefer to live in a land without order?
We have laws and moral standards so we can co-exist with each other.

Morals are transitory and don't exist. get with it. if i wish to destroy others who deny me my freedom, who are you to say otherwise? what makes your opinion so absolute? dazzn Wrote:Who says it's wrong to push a 21 year old girl? You? I do. Whether or not you agree is not the issue I was trying to point out. What I was trying to explain to you is that there are consequences for our actions, regardless of whether we agree on the issue of their morality. You seem to think that you have the right to do as you please, and no one has the right to stop you or make you face the consequences, but that is not the case. dazzn Wrote:what makes your morals so supreme? Nothing. dazzn Wrote:People do as they please in life. get with it, and nobody really has the right to deny me what i want. And this is where you are oh so horribly wrong and will probably one day suffer for this belief(assuming, of course, that you actually believe the shit you spout and are not trying to parody what you believe are the logical conclusions of atheism, as I have suspected all along). People absolutely have the right to deny you what you want if what you want infringes on their freedom.
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell
