I still manage not to be a dick to my ex, somehow, who knows how....
Fucking hell, that's daylight robbery. Don't be surprised if you see her with an expensive handbag next time or shoes haha

Sorry I keep thinking pounds. 680 dollars is about 440 pounds so it isn't as bad as I thought, but that's still quite bit of money lol

I'm guessing that CD's version is probably closer to the truth, though.

Of course.

In the interest of keeping the story brief, I left out some details (such as why the nutjob was angry in the first place). However, those facts didn't seem relevant, as even though we might feel that he was justified in being upset at one thing or another, there was nothing that justified the menacing and threatening behavior which was at issue.

What sparked the incident was a legitimate beef of his that happened earlier in the day. Everyone involved agreed he had a right to be upset.

On the other hand, to be completely fair, I also did not bring up a bunch of background information which led to my decision to intervene.

After reflecting upon it for a day and a half, if a similar situation comes up in the future, I'm still going to intervene, though I'll try a subtler approach first, before I bring out Louisville's best.

Well, I also pay half of any medical or educational expense up to and including a college education and could continue paying until she's 24.....so by the end of this whole thing it will have been a great deal of money. Money well spent, and certainly not as much money as I would have spent on her under other circumstances (obviously never enough because there isn't enough money in the world to do right by my little girls.....-i digress-)

You'd be shocked at what I pay. It's more of my pay than I keep for myself. But then again, in my case, it's voluntary. I'm not under a court order, and she doesn't get any of the money directly. I do it because it's what I consider to be the right thing to do, given the totality of the circumstances.

I think that's very generous of you tbh, I don't know if I could stomach seeing half my paycheck leave like that, let alone majority of it. But then again, we get taxed to death here in Britain to pay for the welfare state (which I don't mind at all for the record), you wouldn't even see 40-50% of what you earn if you lived here.

Between marriages I did the same, it's a decision that I questioned at the time (and sometimes since) but ultimately I just couldn't stand the thought of not giving what I could - who that would make me, regardless of the fact that I was paying off my ex wife's trip to australia - and likely the kiwi flavored panties some asshole chewed off her body.

Now that whats mandated on one branch of the tree and what's required on the other (heavier) branch leaves me with nary a dime to my name I've had to just peacefully accept that I can't do more at this time. Still lookin to strike it rich though, then it's kiwi flavored panties for all!

Well, what's left for me to live on after taxes, payroll deductions, and support, is about 25% of my pay. It's enough. I live modestly by choice, and I don't want for much. I'm certainly no less happy now than when I had more money.

Yes, exactly.

In addition, part of what makes me who I am today, and why I do what I do is guilt, and out of atonement to my family. I have made no secret of my struggles with mental illness. I have been, and am in some ways, still am a rotten bastard. After what I put my ex and my family through, if I didn't do what I could, I might as well eat a bullet.

Now that might've pissed me off, you're a really patient person- very commendable.

Fair enough, I intend to live modestly as well tbh. But I don't see myself living the rest of my life in the UK, it's very expensive to live here. Two of my neighbours actually left permanently to live abroad, one to Spain, the other to UAE. I think they just got fed up feeding the system.

Oh, the saga continues. The drama. The intrigue. The lulz.

Dickhead, realizing that he cannot get a restraining order against his ex, is now trying to get a restraining order against yours truly. And what's better (I.e. worse), he's trying to get information out of his youngest son to do so.

The lulz keep coming, and coming, and coming.
