I watched the avengers.
It was ok but it annoyed me on a few levels in comparison to the x men films which I really really like.
The hulk seems too powerful, I never knew he was like that. It seems that he only needs a team around him in order to nudge him so he's facing in the right direction when he gets angry.
The characters powers in my opinion are some of the most boring I've seen. I'm not the biggest comic book geek so correct me if I'm wrong but the super power list is basically....
Hulk- Very strong, very fast, basically invincible.
Thor Very strong, very fast, basically invincible, can fly and hold a hammer.
Iron man with the suit- Very strong, very fast, can fly and get his suit to calculate things.
Black widow- Very strong, very fast.
Captain america- Very strong, very fast.
Hawk eye- Very strong, very fast.
Compare this to X men, the ability to control metal, read minds, control the weather, have a laser for an eye, manipulate fire, ice, soundwaves and so on.
The characters simply don't struggle enough in battles, even black widow, captain america and hawkeye, who are basically just very strong very fast humans, just seem to make really corny jokes while fighting instead of focusing hard on a battle.
In x men it seemed to me that even though you know the x men are going to win in the end it still feels more like they aren't and they have to struggle, and that you don't know who's going to die sometimes, and that they have more complex characters and weaknesses.
So the film was OK, and I managed to get a poster about 10 feet long and 7 ft tall of the hulk from work from a promotions thing they were doing.
Are you ready for the fire? We are firemen. WE ARE FIREMEN! The heat doesn’t bother us. We live in the heat. We train in the heat. It tells us that we’re ready, we’re at home, we’re where we’re supposed to be. Flames don’t intimidate us. What do we do? We control the flame. We control them. We move the flames where we want to. And then we extinguish them.
Impersonation is treason.

You're mostly right. In terms of the comics, I was never really the biggest fan of The Avengers. X-Men was by far one of my favorite comic book series', due to the character diversity (as you mentioned). The Avengers are cool and all, but at this point are mainly just being used for revenue purposes…because what kid doesn't want to be an Avenger?

I just watched This Is Spinal Tap, which I haven't seen in years.
I'm still belly laughing. Oh my gawds.

I had to keep a little theme and watch Best In Show.
I normally hate spoofs, but, dammit, these guys know what they're doing.

I was looking through movies on Hulu Plus a few months back and saw Hot Tub Time Machine.
No. Just no. The fact that they made a sequel makes me not wanna be an adult anymore lol.
There there were a few others that made me shake my head:
Evil Bong
Evil Bong 2: King Bong
These two fall right up there with true stupidity.

Avengers. I'm not so sure, but I think the superhero movie fad has died for me. It has been a long time since I've watched one of these types without getting bored. Of course Batman and X Men are the only exceptions.

Personally, I'm counting the days for the comic book movie genre to go extinct to make way for actual movies again.
