And it could be graduated. Cleaning up the hood to going through college for a job the citizens need done.

That's fair.  A year of cleaning graffiti shouldn't count the same as a year of military service.

By graduated I meant "jobs you are willing to do." Cleaning up graffiti isn't dangerous but it benefits society. I think there should also be a lottery for those jobs.

And no, I don't have every detail worked out.

LOL, neither do it.  It's definitely worth a look, though.

Except for FREEDUMB!!!!!

People everywhere coast as much as they can. This means that things that need to be done don't get done. We wind up living with it.

I just say Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets on TV. Very pretty.

A conceptualist's wet dream. I've read that George Lucas was very impressed by it when he read the comics as a youngling.

Luc Besson does that. Gorgeous movies that end up as cult classics, but have a 50/50 shot at commercial or critical success.

Subway,Big Blue, Nikita, The Professional, Fifth Element, Lucy, and Valerian.
I am the Infantry. I am my country’s strength in war, her deterrent in peace. I am the heart of the fight… wherever, whenever. I carry America’s faith and honor against her enemies. I am the Queen of Battle. I am what my country expects me to be, the best trained Soldier in the world. In the race for victory, I am swift, determined, and courageous, armed with a fierce will to win. Never will I fail my country’s trust. Always I fight on…through the foe, to the objective, to triumph overall. If necessary, I will fight to my death. By my steadfast courage, I have won more than 200 years of freedom. I yield not to weakness, to hunger, to cowardice, to fatigue, to superior odds, For I am mentally tough, physically strong, and morally straight. I forsake not, my country, my mission, my comrades, my sacred duty. I am relentless. I am always there, now and forever. I AM THE INFANTRY! FOLLOW ME!

Not being an art snob means I get to enjoy Besson more than some.

'Driver', with Ryan Gosling.  Weirdly compelling film.  Gosling plays a movie stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway driver for criminals.  Eerie tone throughout, with pretty minimal dialogue.

7/10.  Would have been higher, but I just don't buy Albert Brooks as a razor-wielding organized crime guy.
