Name 1 Something that You are Sure of

I myself take the side that nothing is absolute because everything moves as time advances.

As such, I am certain that no 1 thing is important. Nothing matters or has meaning to it.

A depressing view to some, but not me.

Dunno how well it engages with your notions of philosophy, but what about your parents? Even when distilled down to merely DNA donors, they surely show something matters...you!...even if only to provide the next link in the chain. Now maybe the biological drive to continue the species isn't what you were after, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

My humourous response, btw, in keeping with the other posters, is this:

I'm sure my wife will giggle whenever she sees me naked. (Damned chilly house!)

Yeah.

Even Descartes was wrong when he concluded that, if nothing else, he existed. The evil spirit (his version of The Matrix) might also be representing him. Annoyingly, he also concluded that God must necessarily exist. Although he was in the service of the church, so that might have been a means of avoiding starvation and homelessness. So we shouldn't grumble too much about that inclusion.

Something I am sure of? Quite a few things, but I'll opt for evolution. That's how obvious it is.

I mean, I could joke around too but I was kinda anticipating something to ponder about.

My answer was actually serious. I find very little in my life that I can be absolutely certain of, but thanks to evolution, I can be quite sure that a knife being inserted into my leg will cause me to experience pain.

I think that much of what we feel we are certain of is an illusion, but baser biologic reactions is not one of them.

Yes, phantom limbs are an illusion. However, I was referring to the ceratinty that biological reactions will occur, not that our interpreation of biological reactions will match reality.
