ETA: Also, couldn't the fact that anesthesia will lessen pain be a biological reaction I could be certain of?

Let's qualify this, then. Given a healthy, fully-functioning body free from external chemical influences, I can be certain that I will experience the sensation of pain as a biological reaction to damage done to my body.

Am I getting closer?
