What Is The Point Of Prayer?

Yet much of the rest of your post, as well as the major part of your posting history, says that you claim to know quite a bit about this god and its character; its interventionist and judgemental nature, what it thinks, how it responds to certain actions/inactions, what its opinions are, things it requires, and so on. Impressive, really, in a sort of sad and revealing way.
At the age of five, Skagra decided emphatically that God did not exist.  This revelation tends to make most people in the universe who have it react in one of two ways - with relief or with despair.  Only Skagra responded to it by thinking, 'Wait a second.  That means there's a situation vacant.'

I could know a million times more than I do and still know very little about my omniscient God, know do you understand or is that head to thick.

Jesus praying in the open is hypocritical of his own teaching. This book is dumb.

Believe me it's not the book that's dumb, a mirror where you live has the truth.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Smile
Y'know, I can always tell when you've run out of steam, G-C; that desperate moment you resort to tossing around the personal insults like child-safe foam rubber toy grenades is a dead giveaway. My advice, should you choose to accept it, is never play poker. Your tells are just too (note spelling) obvious.

What significant difference is there between praying and crossing one's fingers?

First magic words and now magic mirrors. The inane is a bounteous fountain from thine mouth.

Less time is wasted doing the latter.
"Well, evolution is a theory. It is also a fact. And facts and theories are different things, not rungs in a hierarchy of increasing certainty. Facts are the world's data. Theories are structures of ideas that explain and interpret facts. Facts don't go away when scientists debate rival theories to explain them. Einstein's theory of gravitation replaced Newton's in this century, but apples didn't suspend themselves in midair, pending the outcome. And humans evolved from ape- like ancestors whether they did so by Darwin's proposed mechanism or by some other yet to be discovered."

Probably because 99.9% of all Christians are hypocrites. Like they say they follow Jesus' teachings but yet they are pissed off that they have to pay taxes which go toward helping the poor. Or they're pissed off at paying taxes at all when Jesus specifically said to do so. Or they know that in the bible it says to not judge others yet I have rarely met a Christian who wasn't judgmental. Or like how Jesus says to turn the other cheek if someone slaps you, but most Christians I know will fight you if you slap them. Or how Jesus said that if anyone steals your cloak, offer them your shirt as well, yet all churches have locks on them and many have alarm systems. Or like how churches are insured against acts of God. Or like how Christians say that prayer can cure illness but they end up going to the doctor anyway, and when they're cured they give prayer the credit for their cure. Or, and this is a big one, Jesus said that when you pray go into your room and shut the door, yet Christians insist on having public prayer vigils, having prayers before conducting official public government business, and telling other people they will pray for them.

Almost like GC's god is made exactly in the image GC wants it to be.
