Makes me wonder.. I got really drunk once and fucked a half-greek guy on my cousin's bathroom floor. I thought it was just fucking, he wanted more, and made me regret it. But did I say it was rape, just because I was drunk and couldn't read the signals? No. Really, what's the big deal if you have sex while drunk? Shit happens when you party naked.

See, that's the problem I'm having: it's hard to tell exactly what the fuck went on in this specific case, because the entire incident has been boiled down to a few sentences, yet still played out like it's some huge dramabomb.

So the "coercive element" was alcohol: to what extent? Was it only the one of them? How was this alcohol being plied? There are deets we could have been given here without identifying the person involved, and frankly if I was going to name a person and throw an accusation like that into the public square I'd want to be damn sure of my information and also present it in as transparent a way as possible, while keeping in confidence the identity of the victim.

But that doesn't seem to be the narrative PZ wants to portray, although I did notice he spent a noticeable length of time before imparting this heavy, empathy stirring news about another person, talking about himself.

According to this quote, it wasn't that she was intoxicated to the point of not being able to consent. She was saying he coerced her into that intoxicated state. I can't imagine how, unless he force-fed her alcohol.

Shit like this makes me happy that so many people think atheism+ and its members are dick heads.

Seems as though their bigoted and hypocritical nature is doing more to unify atheists and theists than any rational argument ever could.
