When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. What can we do to promote atheism? Apparently, according to the conservative fundies, we don't need to do anything since we already control the media, Hollywood, universities, schools, etc. and are tirelessly promoting our atheist agenda to get rid of God and make the country a terrible place to live.

First you will need some kind of explanation for stuff (all of it) then you will need to make some kind of a point or have some kind of a cause (beyond bashing religion/God) and then you will need some kind of organisation that gatherers people together and teaches/encourages to do good (or whatever) and so on. Some ritual elements would be fun. I suppose you could base a new atheist religious movement on Anton Laveys Satanic Bible. If you could figure out a naturalistic method of attaining immortality, people are going to be in.

Raeliasism, these guys are atheists through to the core as they don't believe in God or in the supernatural of any kind. So you will get the benefits of a religion and the same identical amount of logic and reason you have now as an atheist. You can't go wrong with this.
