Hell
RE: Hell
Rhizomorph13: Well not to be fundementalist or extremist tends to be a good start to living it properly. Of course I would think I was in that middle ground since as most people think they are right. That is why I am here in some ways, to help break out of traditional christianity for the sake of tradition not reason and find that middle ground where things make the most sense.

I think this is something most people of whatever belief (theist or atheist) need to do; to attempt to open their minds and break misconceptions and ignorance away.... but obviously not so open that your brains fall out Tongue
Saerules: I thought I had replied to you before this but I guess something went wrong :S

Anyway, in this discussion I was assuming (a post or two back) that there is reason for belief in God but it could be an alien. My point was that you might as well believe it is God (if it seems like God) since there is no reason not to unless you value what you want to do over God.

Know of any good phycological exams online then? Big Grin

Yeah, I guess something really DID go wrong (and thank all that is pink for hide tags)Tongue

I would first have to have a reason to believe 'God' exists... and in event of the knowledge: I may indeed enjoy following 'God'. But until then: there is a massive list of things I'd rather do Tongue

As for knowing of any great psych tests (available online): http://www.psychtests.com/tests/?sec=tests should be one of your better options... there are of course others.. but I feel these are usually done rather professionally Smile

Of course, the full report isn't free. However, it is the exercise of answering and pondering my answers that I enjoy most, so it is almost a non-issue with me Smile

Well, I look at it this way: 1000+ USD just to see a psychologist... or ~5 USD to take a nearly equivalent test... minus an educated psychologist to help you further. Smile

RE: Hell
Do you pay for them then and think they are as accurate as a psychologist?

I've never found an online IQ test that gives accurate values. They always tend to pander to the stupid. Online IQ tests put me at 135-140. The Mensa home test (graded by them) puts me at a lower bound of 155.

Avoid online IQ tests like the bloody plague Smile You know... i've never cared for the 'Q' part of the IQ...

Depends on the psychologist really. I base their accuracy on my own observations of myself. I mostly enjoy seeing what I already know in writing... speaking entirely for myself: it is comforting that a professional psych test tells me the same thing I say. It's a bit of positive reinforcement between the barrages of negative opposition Smile
