Education: Has thanks to government funded schools, Finnish students have been ranked among the top 3 in PISA for many years in a row.

Finalnd government students ranking high in a government program? Irrelevant.

As a university student get my health care for free, dental work costs me about 30€. If you have to wait over three months to see a health care professional, you can go privately and the Social Insurance Institution will pay the excess.

There's no such thing as a free government program. The funding is taken from the population by force.

Free market friendly societies were more cost efficient. And what evidence do you have to show the socialist healthcare program has actually made people healthier? that's the goal is it not?

Irrelevent. Government forced roads upon us, if our world existed without governments, the world's economic system would be completely different. Free market entities only use roads because they are there.

Plus the government takes approximately half the earnings of every citizen, are you saying a free way is more profitable than literally half the earnings of everyone USA?
The only freedom, is freedom from illusion.

I guess what is relevant to you is masturbating to your own words on this forum. You have been presented with numerous success cases of gvt programs, your ass was already handed to you.

Tell me something koolay, what are you doing here, if you consider everything others say to you as irrelevant?

Oh, and LOL @ the gvt forced roads upon us Hilarious

How on earth is education irrelevant? Thanks to free* education, all the way from elementary school to university, Finland has one of the best and most knowledgeable workforces.

*Yes yes, big scary taxes. I'd rather have high taxes and live in a country with decent a social network, than in a country where you can lose your job just because you were out two weeks with a cold, or where parents have to work two jobs in order to get the minimum necessities for their families.
When I was young, there was a god with infinite power protecting me. Is there anyone else who felt that way? And was sure about it? but the first time I fell in love, I was thrown down - or maybe I broke free - and I bade farewell to God and became human. Now I don't have God's protection, and I walk on the ground without wings, but I don't regret this hardship. I want to live as a person. -Arina Tanemura

Koolay is home schooled by grandma, his income is derived from filching money from his momma's purse, his booster shots are paid for by his daddy's Blue Cross plan, and his transportation needs are covered by his Hello Kitty 16" bicycle on the sidewalk. He has zero comprehension of how the real world operates, just a distopian notion he picked up from reading 50's pulp fiction.

Yeah cuz fuck roads bro, amirite?

You are correct in that the world's economic system would be completely different, in the sense that it would not exist at all.

But it's not free. Factually, Mathematically and Financially, the receivers of state 'education' have their money forcibly taken from them to fund the indoctrination camps when they are adults. Each child is born with over $50,000 in federal debt. So are you saying 50,000 = 0? Plus, state 'schools' is not education by definition. Education is a voluntary application to the pursuit of knowledge. Children are forced into state 'schools'. So the correct word is indoctrination.

And if you are going to make wild claims about Finland having the most 'knowledgeable' workforce, then at least show evidence. Otherwise you are just making your points more and more unbelievable.

As I said, it's paid by taxes.

Indoctrination camps? You moron, what you teach can be corrupted, but not knowledge. How do you suggest you ensure that everyone gets the possibility to gain as much knowledge as possible?

Quote:Each child is born with over $50,000 in federal debt. So are you saying 50,000 = 0?

Oh really? Funny, besides what I have unpaid on my Visa card (my limit is 1000€, btw) I have no debt.

Quote:Plus, state 'schools' is not education by definition. Education is a voluntary application to the pursuit of knowledge.

Yeah, you might be better off if you bought a dictionary or at least had the sense to Google things. Education, by definition, is:

Noun
The process of receiving or giving systematic instruction, esp. at a school or university: "a new system of public education".
(It can also be a synonym to pedagogy, but that's irrelevant in this case.)

Quote:Children are forced into state 'schools'. So the correct word is indoctrination.

Why use quotation marks around school? What's a school in your opinion? And indoctrination is defined as to instruct in a doctrine, principle, ideology, etc., especially to imbue with a specific partisan or biased belief or point of view and though I agree that some teachers are indeed biased, I as a student have never been afraid to question my teachers if something didn't seem right. Thanks to my education I've gained knowledge and understanding, how to think and not an opinion of what I should think.

Quote:And if you are going to make wild claims about Finland having the most 'knowledgeable' workforce, then at least show evidence.

As I already stated, the PISA results: http://www.oecd.org/pisa/46643496.pdf
An article in the Huffington Post agrees.
Here's Yahoo Finance's take on the matter.
The 2012 Legatum Prosperity Index ranks Finland as third regarding entrepreneurship and opportunity.

Bitch please!
