Why would Satan want souls? What use are they to him?

Seeing as Satan is supernatural as well, and not a complete idiot, he would know that he has already lost and would already know the fate that supposedly awaits him, So why make it worse for others? What's his motive?
How could having company comfort him in any way, since hell is supposedly the worst possible place, no company of screaming mortals would help him in any way. It would be like being on a plane of screaming young children, it would make his pain worse not better.

If you and I were in a feud and you sent people over to me that didn't accept you or love you, why would I feel ill will towards them? They are on my side and I would want the best for them, not try to play your prison warden for you. It doesn't make sense.

Secondly, Is satan in hell right now? Being tortured? If so, how can he think over the pain, to give a gnat's ass about whats going on on earth?
If he likes it there and it's not torture, then why does the bible make such a big deal about sending him there?

Lastly, do any of you theists still believe in the "Harrowing of Hell" story?
What was that all about and why is it not universal christian canon?

First and foremost...Satan is all ego & lies. He believes he can take all souls for himself and deny God. You see, we have freedom of choice! So, he thinks that he will change the outcome...even though he knows the outcome! Plus...misery loves company. Remember, Satan doesn't know what love is. Nor mercy or forgiveness. Those gifts play into our salvation, which doesn't make any sense to him.

He's like us in our negative ways. We will try anything to change things in the face of reality! Even when we know it won't help the outcome! Its our human nature.... the fallible one! But, if we rely on God for strength and answers, things always workout fine!

Secondly, Satan is not confined to hell. He is free to roam the earth. Jesus calls him: "the ruler of this world." Satan is able to "offer" his control over worldly things in exchange for you Worshipping him instead of God. But Satan's time and choice has an expiration. Gods' doesn't!

The claim that satan is all lies and ego is not substantiated, as he tells the truth in Genesis where god lied about Adam's fate. Furthermore, all you have is god's claim that he is a liar, you have no independent evidence of this or even of his existence. Why were no words of satan quoted in the bible? The diatribes against satan sound like a catty school girl rantings about a rival, no factual evidentiary statements at all.

Secondly, do you have any clear biblical statements that Satan is heartless and without mercy? It's full of deceiver and liar claims, but that's all I remember.

"take all souls for himself and deny God." Deny god? Deny that he exists? Deny god who even made satan himself? God could make an infinite supply of souls for himself. It would be impossible for satan to deny an all powerful god anything, and unless satan is an imbecile, he would already know this.

Lastly, " They recently removed it (the harrowing of hell story) from the Creed." So they admitted it was wrong? They admitted that it was made up by some religious nut? Why what was his motive and how was his motive different from all the other writers of the gospels?

It is good that they are admitting that these stories are bullshit, even if it is slowly, one at a time.
