These people are all spectacularly stupid in the public's eye. Is Ken Hovind the dude whose best argument is: You don't know if anything is real, you can only TRULY know if god tells you it's real. And you know he's god because god cannot lie.
If he really believes in that he takes the spot of the stupidest person alive. But I doubt he does. He can't be so stupid. No one can.

I don't know. I'm kind of on the fence with respect to Ray Comfort, leaning towards thinking he really is that stupid.
With Hovind, I'm utterly convinced that he's stupid as a box of rocks.

If Kent Hovind weren't stupid, he wouldn't be sitting in prison right now.

That was one of my major deciding factors in making the choice between "stupid" and "clever".

Ray Comfort terrifies me. Because he's not stupid enough to not realize when he is pointed out as being grossly incorrect with his statements. But it doesn't phase him at all. That baffles me.
It baffles me that my parents who are both highly intelligent and highly educated don't believe in evolution. There is no way to really grasp why such intelligent people think that way.
Religion can grip even an intelligent, well educated person and turn them blind to logic and evidence. Moreso they get an emotional high from dismissing such evidence and logic without any good reason other than to cling to religious doctrine.
That freaks me out. When people can willingly discount such things they can be capable of the most horrible atrocities in human history. They can justify doing anything to anyone in support of their religious beliefs.
I think that Religion is a virus of the mind. A horrific virus that has the capability of destroying everything. Even our entire species. And the religious will do it praising god while it happens.
