Correct?

No.

So it was the law

Then Jesus came, and died on your behalf.

The law remains

Why aren't you persecuted for breaking the law as a believer? Because Jesus literally died on your behalf.

The Law demanded a death for sin.

The law remains

Jesus had to die for you.

The law can not persecute a dead person. therfore believers in Chrsit are not free from the Law as a means to righteousness.

(That is the first 1/2 the resurection is the second 1/2)

Nothing changes. For everyone outside of Christ attonement is still subject to the Moral law of God. Which they can not keep, and will owe a death for their sins.

I have now read this 3 times and still don't get it.

Jesus died so Christians don't have to follow the rules?

So the 10 commandment no longer apply to Christians as Jesus died for them?

Sorry - but this is more than slightly insane.

Could you try to explain it again - I am sure you are not saying the above.....are you?

I think what he is saying is the commandments from god still stand, but when you get to heaven and are judged, you will be judged solely on your belief, rather than your adherence to the laws, as it was before Christ.

I think...
Even if the open windows of science at first make us shiver after the cozy indoor warmth of traditional humanizing myths, in the end the fresh air brings vigor, and the great spaces have a splendor of their own - Bertrand Russell

I think...

"We will judge ourselves" according to Jesus.

Jesus is the standard to which we either measure-up, or fail.

You can't hide a bad heart, or good one with any amount of deeds or praising of the Lord.

We ALL know our own hearts. And we know what God is supposed to represent. NOT RELIGIONS!

So: if you live a somewhat good life; believe in, and love God, and love your neighbor.... you are pretty much in!

If not? I hope you have another good lawyer! Because I have the best!

As Drich has said, God does not change not ever. God has always had a plan to reunite man with Himself, that plan was and is Christ. What you all see as God changing, is in reality, God continuing to reveal His plan of redemption for mankind. Those who have accepted Christ as savior are not going to be judged by the Law, we accepted the atonement which releases us from judgement by the Law. Those who do not accept Christ as savior will be held to the Law, every letter of the Law, not one jot or tittle will be withheld from their judgement.

If you all would read the NT and try to understand what is written in it you would see that we who are not Jewish are not held to the dietary laws God gave the Israelites, the same goes for the sacrificial laws. We are however suppose to keep the laws of love, Jesus made this quite clear in His ministry.

So if anyone is relying on Satan as their lawyer before God you will be disappointed, the great deceiver will sale you out and do it with a smile.
God loves those who believe and those who do not and the same goes for me, you have no choice in this matter. That puts the matter of total free will to rest.

Could you point out where in the gospel Jesus explains dietary laws no longer apply - I can't find it.

Go to Paul's Epistles, seek there and you will find the answer, I'm not doing your work, I have my own. Hint #2 look in the Gospels and see what Christ says about what goes into the body.

Not interested in the Epistles - I wanted to see where Jesus stated the dietary laws no longer applied.

AS to what Christ said about what goes into the body that would seem to confirm that he did want to stay with the dietary rules.

Paul changed it on his own.
