I just got back from the supermarket. On my way out, I was addressed by some guy setting up a table near the entrance. Would I like to donate to their ministry? I politely declined and continued toward my car. Then another guy hopped out of a van and jogged toward me. "Would you care to donate to our ministry?" he asked.
I replied, "No, I don't donate to Christian causes." He started to follow up his question, but I cut him off, "I won't donate to a Christian cause. My money goes toward charities that don't proselytize."
His expression of surprised incomprehension made my morning. Hell, I'm feeling so good about the exchange I'll make another small donation to Doctors Without Borders this morning.

Procrastinating....although, I'd like to view it as socializing and educating myself while I read the forums.

Avoiding working on my theist penpal's email response. There is so much wrong with her email that even limiting myself to three topics (dispelling a bad historical claim she made, clearing up applications and usage of the scientific method and "axioms") I can't make it a reasonable length. And I haven't even really started on the scientific method part which is going to be the longest section.
Also, avoiding cleaning my place even though it really needs it. (At least, it needs a good vacuuming)
Teenaged X-Files obsession + Bermuda Triangle episode + Self-led school research project = Atheist.

Thinking about getting a Roomba to keep the dog hair half ass cleaned up between weekly real vacuuming. Sons of bitches are expensive.

Yes, but the former is marginally more interesting than the latter. :p

Greyhounds shed more than any dog I've ever encountered and I foster Goldens. Holy crap, just touching Jellybean would erupt a cloud of his hair everywhere. Sweep/vacuum and 20 mins later there are little tumbleweeds of Greyhound hair in the corners.
I liked JB, but I don't miss that after he and Tony moved out.
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

Off to join my brother and some friends for an evening of poker, food, and schmoozing.
Skepticism is not a position; it is an approach to claims.
Science is not a subject, but a method.
