Yes! Why didn't I think of that. Those are all the best ideas. I love all the things you mentioned. AND I know where to get all my favorite choice items. Plus, I happen to know her favorite wine. I think that's what I'll do. Thank you guys a ton! Jenny, Steel, and CD, you're fucking geniuses. Now, hopefully the weather cooperates.
I can't remember where this verse is from, I think it got removed from canon:

Thinking of selling my house and changing careers.
Realising how much I suck at everything else apart from the job I do now.

First date - bowling.
You got food, alcohol and fun.
And not too intimate with lots of people around.
And you don't have to get dressed up.
And it's not too expensive. :-)

I'm with all the other people here: make it casual (bowling, mini golf, take her to a pool hall, I once took a guy to a corn maze as our first date - but that was in October). Since you've been friends with her for a while you have some idea of her interests and things she likes to do or what would suit her personality, so try to gear it toward those sorts of things.
Definitely nix the suit and tie dinner date - that would freak me the fuck out and I'm about a flighty as you can get when it comes to dating. Save that sort of thing (the time, the effort, the money, the emotional investment) for later when you know you really like each other.

Yeah, the hoity toity dinner idea actually originated from some talks between us about wanting to do that because it is absolutely not who we are. We both think it would be fun to go to a world that isn't ours and be uncomfortable. Haha Sounds dumb now. Plus, now that I remember where the idea originated from, it's probably not the best first date idea. Maybe later on down the road.
