Yep!  Cold turkey!  I took a quiz to measure my level of nicotine addiction, and it's very low, so I'm not going to do any nicotine replacements; just baby carrots and snow peas.

That's the right attitude!
Smoking sucks, pollutes the air around you, makes your clothes smell... actually reek of tobacco... disturbs people around you... and makes a hole in your bank account.
My dad was smoking a pack a day... around here, that means 4€ per day, or... 120€ per month.... that's 25% of minimum wage.

Now, to turn this into a smoking-ban thread:
- It is my impression that most current smoking bans are being imposed on the consumer side - you can't smoke here, you can't smoke there, you pay extra tax when you buy a pack, etc...
Maybe... just maybe the governments are tackling the problem from the wrong side... maybe it would be better to ban selling tobacco. A bit like the law for drugs in Portugal: you can't sell, but you can use.
Of course, medical applications would be maintained, like medical marijuana is used everywhere, right?! Tongue

The trouble is... money talks... and the tobacco industry is swimming in money... and lots of taxes stem from tobacco... so where's the incentive to ban it?
Public health? meh, they pay extra taxes to account for the extra medical bill (oh yeah, around here most medical care is state sponsored.... you guys should import this model, it's nice)
Should I be able to pay an extra tax only to be exempted from wearing the seat belt, when driving? hmmmm....
