I just played around with Mtext and it's giving me the same Mtext menu as I had previously:


I tested multiple text heights and fonts and whatnot and it's working, so I'm calling this work around good.  Fuck the ribbon.

Hmmm. I'm going to have to make some additions to my personal toolbar. A little CUI drag and drop editing and I may be able to kill that fucking ribbon, dead!

Recovering from the worst Monday ever!

Got ass ended on my way to work this morning, and to make things that little extra bit special, the asshole pushed my into the car I had already avoided hitting. Amazingly, I seem to have gotten off lucky. No neck or back pain. Just a little stiffness that's already going away. Still, my ride is most likely totaled. 2004 Kia Sedona's aren't worth much according to Kelly Blue Book, even with less than 70k miles. At least it's driveable, unlike the car that hit me. His 2010 Nissan Altima was fucked up! Of course he hit me hard enough to push my two ton minivan into the person ahead of me even though I had my brakes on. My car wouldn't be so bad off if he hadn't hit me hard enough to lift my ass end, pushing me under the Acura ahead of me.

So, now I get to spend the next week or two fighting with Geico (his insurance, not mine, since he was at fault) about car values ('cause you know they're gonna low-ball me) in the hopes of getting it fixed or getting proper value out of it if they decide to write it off.

What a shitty way to get a half-day at work.

Today was certainly better. But, after reviewing the damage to the car after getting the hood open and seeing just how hard I was hit, I am fucking amazed that I'm not lying prostate moaning and cussing the other driver. How I managed to not get whiplash, bad, especially considering I already have a bad back... The asshole who hit me drove me into the car in front of me hard enough that my formerly straight radiator is now bowed. Just a bit more and I would have been towed from the scene as well. Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to be injury free. I'm just not sure how, unless I rolled with the impact instead of fighting it. I've heard that's what actually causes whiplash. the damnedest thing is, my airbag didn't deploy. Again, not complaining. Sure didn't need the equivalent of a punch in the nose on top of everything else.

I'm almost hoping it's totaled. More options that way.

In other news, I'm doin fuckin awesome...I finally got all the trees off my roof, lol.  I don't have to work a chainsaw anytime soon so I'm getting twisted, tut sweet.

I'll try to remember in the morning to send you the link that showed me how to set up the classic toolbar in 2016 (and 2015 probably). It was pretty easy.

Sorry Vic. That was mean. I'm the official spider/beetle/earwig/big bug killer around my house. I've taken out some pretty nasty ones so I understand that feeling. I've grown immune to it a bit over the years though.
