As one of the users, you should have a saying.
Try to chat with whoever is in charge and find out the reason for such yearly changes, while inserting the notion that "long-term support software" exists for a good reason: waste less time adjusting to novelty crap that brings zero added productivity.

At the moment, I'm just suggesting to keep the "old" working versions. win7 must have a LTS plan...
