What's everyone up to right now?

Waiting for the sun to come up again after yet another sleepless night
Had a pretty fucked up commute.
Usually I catch the express bus right across the street from my office or the train two blocks down, but today was our office holiday party, which was uptown. Upon leaving, I realize that it's pouring and I wasn't really dressed properly. Three choices - wait in the pouring rain for up to 20 minutes for a bus to take me back downtown, walk about half a mile to catch the train and have Kitty pick me up, or walk about 3/4 of a mile to catch the express bus back to where I parked my truck. A quick call to Kitty confirms she's happy to pick me up, so I decide that catching the train is probably the least wet and cold choice. Twenty minutes later I'm on the train, considerably wetter and colder than before. I was wearing my typical garb, crocs, t-shirt, and a hoodie. All cotton, and already pretty soaked. I let Kitty know I'll be at the train station at 5:15. At 5:12, I get a panicked text message from Kitty letting me know that she ran out of gas. Oops. The funny part here is that she's usually the one to rescue me when I run out of gas. My phone battery is nearly dead, I'm still miles and miles from home, and I have NO idea how to get to my car by bus from where I'm at except to take the train back downtown and take the express bus. I can see the freeway traffic from where I'm at, and there's no way I want to do that. I figure out that I can take the #4 from Portland to Vancouver, and then the #32 from Vancouver to where my truck is parked in Hazel Dell. Luck is on my side, and I don't have to wait long for either bus. Car is parked several hundred yards from the bus stop, and any part of me that was formerly dry is soaked by the time I get to my truck. I turn the key, and *CLICK* *CLICK* ..... *CLICK* .... nothing. Dead battery. Fuck. I check my phone. 4% battery left. I tap out a quick text message "My battery is dead. Car won't start.". It sends, and the phone dies. Fuck. Now what. Ah - there's two gas stations a couple of blocks away. I'm in luck and the first one has both a gas can for sale, and a pay phone. (Remember when there used to be pay phones everywhere?) I buy a can and get some quarters for the phone, and we decide that Kitty will call me a cab that will pick me up at the Chevron station at the intersection I'm at. Except for this: after I hang up, I realize that I'm not at the Chevron, I'm at the Arco, the Chevron is across the street. Hoping there will be a payphone there, I start walking over. I see from a distance that there is a pay phone. Nice. Though when I get there, I find that there's not actually a phone, just a loose wire in a booth. Someone apparently stole the phone. Now what? If I walk back to the Arco to verify that Kitty was able to get me a cab, I might miss it when they arrive. If I stay, I won't be able to confirm it. I decide to stay, and wait outside for the cab to arrive, soaking wet. Ten minutes later, the clerk inside the convenience store raps on the window to get my attention. Kitty apparently got the number of the gas station and called - good thing she was able to get in touch because there was going to be no cab, the cab company never answered her calls. Instead she was having a tow truck bring her some gas. She'll pick me up at my truck and give me a jump start. Once I'm back inside my truck and not walking, I start to realize how fucking cold and wet I really am. An hour later when Kitty gets there, I'm mildly hypothermic. By the time we get the truck going and get to my place it's after 8pm. I left our holiday party at 4:15. Yeah, today just wasn't our day.
