Cat update, missluckie, as requested.

Well, Kevin is out of the tree, but I'm not sure he's out of the woods. Just as the tree guy got up to him, he (as predicted) climbed up higher and higher into the canopy. Tree guy carried on and went after him. They were almost to the very tippy-top of the tree, and Kevin began to creep out on a wobbly branch. Sure enough, despite the tree guy's best efforts, Kevin finally fell. He managed to catch himself on 3 branches on the way down, which was good, but he did end up falling about 35 feet. Landed on his feet and took off like a rocket. He was foaming blood through the nose and mouth (hypothermia), and all I can do now is leave out food, water and a warm place to recover. I don't even know where he is. He's hiding, and I'll never find him. I've left the workshop open for him with a lamp on, along with a warm place to curl up and sleep. I hope it's enough. Poor little guy. I've done all I can.

As I shared with someone earlier today, that's the most money I've ever spent to watch a cat fall out of a tree. Hope it is worth it.

So sorry to hear this Raeven. I hope he comes back to you but that is just the chance we take isn't it. Cats like a lot of freedom.

I'm so glad he's still alive. Well, if you ever get your hands on him again, wrap him up in winter clothing so if he disappears again at least he'll stay warm. Al though he'd probably pee on it or get out of it ...

missluckie, I am thinking about the violin, probably not going to teach myself but have sporadic lessons and lots of practicing. I played flute in a band as a kid, I don't like any of the wind instruments, though, I have bad lungs. Although the really long chinese flute looks really cool.
