After giddily thinking xmas was 'off' this year, wifey brought home a christmas tree to decorate. So, I decorated it. It now has an empty Foster's Ale can tree topper. Glad I could contribute.

Gotta love the South(US)...it's December, almost 70° and raining like a mutha here, so I'm up, cooking comfort food...a huge pork roast with potatoes and onion. Probably go back to sleep now and try to ignore all the totes filled with christmas shit my kids have staged everywhere. Bleh.

I'm on the bus going to do my Christmas Shopping. I normally leave it till Christmas Eve when he shops aren't very busy, but I'm working Christmas Eve.

So the (full and standing) bus only ran half the fucking route and the next one wasn't for another 20 mins, so it will also be full and standing and won't let any of us on. So I've just walked like half a mile to another bus stop where there's a bus that goes to Brent Cross. I'm miffed as fuck. London buses are usually some of the most reliable you can get, but lately they have been doing shit like this. I'm not used to having to wait more than 5-10 mins for a bus, so this really pisses me off.

I think I've finally figured out my problems rooting my Nook color device. I rooted it fine, giving me a plain Android 7" computing device. However, when it rooted it, it took the 32 GB memory card and cut it up into four parts, the last of which had 30 GB of space - the bulk of the space. I tried copying stuff to it, only to get an error. Windows won't recognize anything but the first part on a flash drive, and XP doesn't have drivers for the device, so I couldn't even mount the damn thing on my regular computer. It turns out that, for some reason, that 30 GB part didn't get formatted right. Now that I've reformatted it with third party tools, it seems to be copying files to it just fine.

Waiting to ship my 10" tablet back to the factory. Until the bank refunds the money from that unauthorized charge, I have no money to ship it with.


Speaking of my bank.... Retailer Target had a bunch of credit card numbers stolen from them with authorization info. So they've got a big blurb on the online banking page about how they're taking "aggressive action" to protect their customers under the Visa zero-liability policy. Meanwhile, I reported a fraudulent charge on the 6th of this month, and here it is the 22nd and TCF bank still hasn't done dick about it. Fucking banks are a bunch of assholes.
