What's everyone up to right now?

Excuse after excuse she's given me tonight.
Thirsty, sore leg, noises, forgot her favourite toy she can't sleep without, need to pee, etc.
So finally I made her a warm milk, read another long story and gave her a back tickle plus a pillow to put her sore leg on.
I'm glad this doesn't happen all the time. :-)

Ours still has the excuse of (officially) not understanding speech yet. I think she knows this and shamelessly exploits it. If I tell her "Go to sleep, it's 4 am!" she just smiles at me like "ok funny guy, why are you making these noises" and grins to herself.

Ahh, I remember those days.
When they finally fall asleep and you get out of bed at the pace of a snail so as not to wake them up. :-)

This guy Brenton is probably going to get banned but I think someone should try and help him if they can.
He's really out there in space all by himself. I'm not sure what can be done. :-(

RE: What's everyone up to right now?
Just got back to Baton Rouge last night after a week in So. Cal. for my mother-in-law's funeral. Longest fucking week ever; I'm actually relieved to be back at work. The service was low key but nice (with the added bonus that yours truly, of all people, got tasked with doing the readings from 1 Corinthians and Luke -- my wolf-in-sheep's-clothing acting skills are awesome when needed). The rest of the week was a nightmare of alternately dealing with the estate issues and the house (house was ill-maintained and MIL and sister-in-law were hoarders). The finances/trust issues are under control and my wife and her sister are on the same page. Having never had to deal with estate/trust issues before, I found the experience interesting and enlightening but draining.

The house is another issue entirely, and my wife is remaining in Huntington Beach for at least another month while they work on the place and make their plans. As big a dump as the house currently is, this being Orange County, they could actually sell as-is for 600K. If they invest $50,000-60,000 in much needed improvements and held onto the property until 2020, when the land lease is fulfilled, they could sell for well north of $1M, which boggles my mind when I think of the place. But that's the going rate down there, and the property is a comfortable ten minute walk from the beach.

I wish like hell my girl was back home with me. But I'm damn glad to be here.

Teens present much more complex excuses such as:

I'm still doing homework.
I'm still hungry.
I'm not really that tired.
Gets told to stop playing with the cats; continues to play with the cats.
Gets told to get off Minecraft. Wait mom! I'm almost done this game and I'm winning (always on the servers, of course)
