Waiting for my wife to come home from hospital. Yeah, again: turns out that if you force a girl in a pendulous medical situation to ignore her own well being and exert herself for two weeks straight or face being homeless, her health will suffer. Who knew, right?

I'm just so incandescently angry at her family right now, barring those few that helped us. Every time we hear from them they manage to do some new breathtakingly terrible thing, it's just... gah. Even when Mel went over there to get the last of our stuff, they were trying to extract money from her. How could I ever have thought they were anything close to resembling good people?

Reading about Chris Sale's... outburst.

It's a funny/weird story: Chris Sale is one of the best baseball players in the world. He's probably the 2nd-best pitcher right now, at the very least top-five. He was scheduled to pitch yesterday, and his team, the Chicago White Sox, was scheduled to wear throwback jerseys, copies of the jerseys their team wore in 1976. Sale, who's got a reputation as a hothead, someone who is not afraid to speak his mind, practiced in them before the game and complained that they were really uncomfortable and that he couldn't pitch in them. The team told him "sorry, but it's final."

So, this is the fun part: this superstar pitcher with millions and millions of dollars took scissors and cut up his team's uniforms so they couldn't wear them..

So, his team kicked him out of the stadium, fined him, and suspended him for 5 games. Just happens to be a week before the trade deadline (for my European friends, before the transfer period closes), so there are a couple of teams who could view this as an opportunity to pry him away from the Sox when they're most willing to ditch him (or, conversely, a team that was interested in him might say "whoa, not touching that attitude with a ten-foot pole...").

Here is the drawing I did today at the convention! We were given an image of Sonic to copy from and enlarge, and he gave us hints on how to do it and make it look good. Most were over my head and I just concentrated on copying it. The guy worked for Sega for a few years, before they used computer generated artwork.

I then added the background from my imagination.
