Thanks. This was totally unexpected. We were just talking the other day about her wedding plans for next year.

Shit, I'm sorry to hear that
Hope you'll be ok.
I will be. I'm just really sad.

Too many wodka, comrade?
"There remain four irreducible objections to religious faith: that it wholly misrepresents the origins of man and the cosmos, that because of this original error it manages to combine the maximum servility with the maximum of solipsism, that it is both the result and the cause of dangerous sexual repression, and that it is ultimately grounded on wish-thinking." ~Christopher Hitchens, god is not Great

She will be. You can't catch that.
But seriously, sorry for your loss Joods. (I like that nick name by the way.) We're going to a remembrance thing for a friend who just died of a stroke. Not cut down in the blush of youth. Just a really nice guy in great physical shape who was actuarily qualified for a stroke. He used to do yoga in the studio across the creek from our place and would lean out on the rail giving me encouragement and compliments about the garden. His first name is Hercules but apparently immortality was not included.
This death thing is the realist thing that happens to us. Far from finding it frightening I find a day when someone we know dies or is buried to be extremely life affirming. I think you're closer to your friend than I was to Herc. I hope the loss doesn't leave a huge hole in your life.

I was as close as I could be to her. She lived in Florida. We talked on the phone all the time. I remember when she moved from NE down south just to be with the love of her life. She just became a grandmother this year too. I was supposed to make a trip down to see her get married next year. I'm just at a loss of words for her fiancee' and her daughter.
