Contemplating giving head to my pillow. It's been that kind of day.

Practicing the guitar. I've gotten significantly better at bar chords but the G string buzzes from time to time which really gets on me nerves, I need to improve my grip.
Getting ready to go for a run, my cat is snoring in my ear right now. He needs one of those devices for snoring that people wear on their heads. lol

"Ironically like the nativist far-Right, which despises multiculturalism, but benefits from its ideas of difference to scapegoat the other and to promote its own white identity politics; these postmodernists, leftists, feminists and liberals also use multiculturalism, to side with the oppressor, by demanding respect and tolerance for oppression characterised as 'difference', no matter how intolerable." - Maryam Namazie
Starting today off on a good note. Can't wait to go to school as a "day" student

Guitar is one of those things I hope to resume/take up in the near future. Every time I have started with the guitar, I've run up against a wall and never really progressed beyond where I had got to the last time I tried and gave up. My 'fuck it' point usually comes somewhere between finally making a half-decent F chord and then trying bar chords. I just can't seem to make a decent bar chord to save my life. <stares ruefully at his Trump-ish hands> (December 5, 2016 at 10:44 am)Crossless1 Wrote:(December 4, 2016 at 3:32 pm)RozKek Wrote: Practicing the guitar. Make sure your thumb is placed correctly, generally right under the neck to give your fingers an easy time to move and put pressure on the strings, check out how to the the guitar neck on youtube or google. Props to Thump for pointing that out. When trying bar chords, experiment on how to place your finger on the fret to put the right amount of pressure on all the strings. Also make sure your guitar is set up properly, if e.g the action isn't adjusted well for you then it can really mess you up. Pick it up again and don't stop trying this time, once you nail the bar chords it gets quite satisfying and fun to play. Goodluck. ![]() ![]() Yes, indeed, I am alive. It’s been a ca-razy second half of the year which has included:
Throw in there some bronchitis, IRL friends, upcoming holidays (including office parties and birthdays), normal obligations and the stress of the US elections this year and it’s been a really freaky string of time for which, on the whole, it’s probably been one of the healthier choices not to have a robust (or even anemic) online presence. But rest assured that I am alive, I’m am (generally speaking) fine, I’m just busy. With that said, I’m off to meet a deadline… ![]() Hopefully life with calm the fuck down so I can come back! I miss everyone...

I'm glad you're ok CM. We miss you. I sent you a PM on facebook just to update you on something. Take a peek when you get the chance.
"Of course, everyone will claim they respect someone who tries to speak the truth, but in reality, this is a rare quality. Most respect those who speak truths they agree with, and their respect for the speaking only extends as far as their realm of personal agreement. It is less common, almost to the point of becoming a saintly virtue, that someone truly respects and loves the truth seeker, even when their conclusions differ wildly."
